Faithful Connections: Interfaith Winter Lights Festival
The beauty of these shared moments stayed with many of us, and this year, we are building on the warmth of last year. Bring your friends, neighbors, loved ones, and yourself to join us in celebrating the beauty and power of light in uniting us and creating hopeful light in what are dark times for many. We hope that this program will show the immense amount of love that remains and shines bright even when we may feel hopeless. We will come together as one interfaith community in this festival of lights, and we hope to see you there!
Faithful Connections: Expressing Gratitude Across Faiths
As we prepare for Thanksgiving amidst a long and difficult year for many, it is always good to remember what we have to be thankful for. Gratefulness reminds us that the world is not always as dark as it seems and that, despite the many challenges that come our way, we have our faith communities, families, nature, and more to rely upon. With this in mind, I asked some of the board members of Interfaith Atlanta to initiate this celebration by writing what they are thankful for and how they implement gratitude into their lives! Faithful Connections: Building Bridges Amidst Division
As I’m sure many can relate to, for me, last Tuesday’s election was not only exhausting but also deeply concerning as the already canyon-like divide in our country seemed to deepen.
It did not help that social media immediately became even more of a vicious battleground than it already was as people of all religious and political beliefs accused the perceived “other side” of hate, idiocy, and selfishness. Amidst this rising tension and disappointment that threatens to take a polarized nation and make it even more divided, we also have the opportunity to become more united and grow in our ability to build bridges across what seem to be insurmountable divides.
